Patiently Becoming..ME

“The obstacles you’ve faced are really about the obstacles you’re assigned to.”

You ever feel like each stage in life brings you something to learn, love and something you didn’t ask for? Like each level in life brings you so many things to digest at once? If you’re like me, you’ve experienced this all too well; something that made you humble, someone who broke your heart, and something that made you say “dam, mom was right”? Looking back, I fully didn’t understand each stage, nor did I enjoy it, but dammit it, all that shit was worth it.  From finding my strength and confidence to leave a friendship or relationship, to knowing my worth to ask for a raise or promotion, I’ve learned that each stage births something, creates something and takes away something.

As I navigated these stages, I’ve always written in a journal. Recently, I started using a prompt, song verse, bible scripture, a book chapter, quote or anything that has inspired me to release my thoughts. I started this early 2018, after the guy I was dating broke up with me via text, I stopped talking to one of my closet and best friends, and was unsatisfied with my job. I wrote out My journal entry is tied to how that has shaped my day (or week, because sometimes life gets busy). And I want to share that with you! Why?  One, it’s amazing motivational and therapeutic. But this isn’t only about sharing those entries, but also sharing stories that we as women don’t usually talk about, advice, and how we navigate through those stages.

At every stage I’ve learned something new, I’ve felt something new, embraced different things and delved further into who I am, and who I am in the process of becoming.   Also, I don’t have all the answers. I’m not an expert in any of these fields, and as I navigate with you I’ll be learning as well.  So as you read these posts weekly, you can expect honest open stories, funny ad-libs and raw footage of life. So I’m writing for you, for the girl struggling to get through those life stages, for the girl who needs a pick me up or advice, or the girl, who just wants to journal those pages with quotes, music bible verses and those Beyonce songs that always seem to be right on time!

So comment, send messages, invite friends to read, and JOURNAL! You need support for those life stages, you need to release  (and gather for that matter) your thoughts through it all, and remind yourself who the Fuck You Are!

“For me, becoming isn’t about arriving somewhere or achieving a certain aim. I see it instead as forward motion, a means of evolving, a way to reach continuously toward a better self. The journey doesn’t end.”
